Routine Exam & Cleaning

Despite good flossing and brushing habits, there are some parts of your teeth that don’t get fully cleaned. A thorough dental cleaning removes plaque buildup to prevent decay. At your regular visits, our staff will provide a thorough cleaning and polishing of your teeth. Dr. Deem will then examine your teeth, tongue, gums, and overall oral health, including an oral cancer screening.

If needed, Dexis digital x-rays are taken. With Dexis, we can show you exactly what we see on a monitor screen. We can zoom in so that details can be seen clearly.

For children, we recommend dental sealants, a coating for molars that fills in the irregular surface of the teeth. The surface is prone to cavities because the area cannot be thoroughly cleaned with a toothbrush. Sealants protect the area for approximately 10 years.

Tooth-Colored Fillings

If a cavity is found during your exam, we will fill it using tooth-colored filling material. This provides superior aesthetics and makes your smile look great!

Root Canals

When a cavity is large, it can cause an infection in the pulp of the tooth. During a root canal, we remove the infected pulp and fill the area with medication and a filling material. State-of-the-art WaveOne Gold technology is used. If the tooth structure is compromised, we place a crown (cap) over the tooth.
